You don't have
to build in timber frame to be able to take advantage of some of
the improved technology and methods in building construction that
full off-site timber-frame manufacturing has produced.
In addition to our
standard manufacturing service for trussed rafters, timber
frame panels, and post and beam systems, we also provide bespoke
design and manufacture facilities for:-
Floor
& Roof Cassettes
With it being essential for floor joist frames and roof structures
to be properly engineered, it makes sense to use a firm that
designs, manufactures and erects engineered timber structures to
make and supply your floor and roof cassettes.
With strict
quality control of all our 'off-site manufacturing' facilities,
you can be sure that when your floor cassettes, or roof cassettes
are craned into position, they will easily drop into place and
lock into the structure of your building, no matter how this is
constructed.
Working closely
with your architects, engineers or other professional construction
consultants, we will design, engineer, and manufacture whatever
you require using 'I' Beams (e.g. TJI's), metal web 'lattice'
joists, moisture controlled solid timbers, or standard stress
graded carcassing timber, should you prefer this.
Floor deck
surfaces can be of plywood, block-board, OSB, or chipboard
('peel-off' membrane surface protection recommended).
Insulation can be factory fitted. Bottom panels can be
selected for weatherproofing (e.g. for exposed ground floors), or
subsequent ceiling fittings and to improve sound and heat
insulation, e.g. for blocks of flats.
Short lead times
and fast turn-round available.
Whether you are an
architect, quantity surveyor, builder, developer, self builder, or
other building professional, wherever you are, whatever you need,

effective solution for your project. Call 01291 437 050, or

'I'
beams
TJI's, JJI's, 'I' beam
joists, or whatever you wish to call them, today's advanced
technology in timber engineering, glues, laminated timbers, and
connector engineering allows us to create superb joist frame
systems for carrying increased loads over wider spans than can
often be achieved using ordinary carcassing timbers.
Please remember
that different load factors need to be applied according to the
use to which a floor may be put. For example, a bedroom in a
dwelling-house will have different loads if it is used as a
bedroom, an office, or a play/sports room, e.g. if it has to carry
a billiard table.
Whatever your
requirement, we will be pleased to provided initial advice and
consultation without charge or obligation.

Metal
Web truss joists
To overcome on-site skill shortages and service run issues, many
builders are turning to metal-web truss-joists to avoid the risk
of holes and notches being cut in timber joists or 'I'
beams. Such actions can severely weaken floors and may even
cause them to be condemned before building works are completed.
Manufactured in a
similar way to roof trusses, top and bottom cords of stress graded
timber are connected by metal web plates to form extremely strong
girders that can span wide openings.
Not only do these
carefully engineered components increase architectural design
freedom for internal room layouts, they also provide plenty of
clear space between ceilings and floors for service runs, e.g.
plumbing, electricity, telephone, heating ducts, etc.
Whatever your
requirement, we will be pleased to provided initial advice and
consultation without charge or obligation.

Pre-hung
door sets
Contractors and developers can now
specify the particular door and ironmongery required to compliment
the quality and standard of the properties being built. We
will then manufacture internal door linings and pre-hang the doors
in factory controlled conditions. The resultant pre-hung
door sets are then easily slotted into position on site,
minimising the need for skilled on-site labour as well as lengthy
and complicated in-situ 'door hanging'.
The result? -
faster 'second fix' times on site, quicker completion of
buildings, better quality control on finishes, greater freedom to
use factory finished doors, consequent reduction in decorating
time + greater certainty of achieving quality
finish.

and fast turn-round available.

Spandrel
Panels
'Wet' trades
builders are increasingly recognising the benefits of having their
roof space spandrel panels made in our factory and shipped to site
for simply lifting them into place. With pre-fixed
plasterboard, or other suitable materials, providing the necessary
fire proofing, they are easily positioned to complete the job.
Our spandrel
panels can be designed and engineered to fit any angle, or shape
of roof and can be either load bearing or non-load bearing, as
required.
By using Benfield
ATT spandrels, contractors and house-builders eliminate the
difficult and costly skilled labour required to cut and rake
brickwork and block-work in difficult to access roof space party
wall areas between trussed or cut roof rafters. This
releases skilled and expensive labour for more important, visible
brick and block work. Besides saving time and money, it also
enables roofs to be closed in faster to protect timbers and floor
decks from the weather and allow quicker access for following
trades. A further benefit is the ability to reduce on site
waste and the attendant Health & Safety hazards.
Result? - quicker,
leaner, cost effective construction, and improved 'value-for-money
buildings' for clients.
Short lead times
and rapid turn-around available.
