While finding land to build on is, in itself, a difficult, time consuming and expensive exercise, as a developer it is only worth buying land if you can make a profit out of it.

Site Survey & Planning
Increasingly, to get the best value out of a site, developers are needing to design the development to take advantage of the orientation, slope, surrounding topography and other buildings, and so on.  But to do so means that quite detailed site surveys are required at an early stage.  

When careful survey detail is combined with sensitive environmental and spatial planning considerations, then exceptionally good developments can result.  However, for this to happen usually requires buildings to be individually designed for the site, rather than merely being able to 'plonk' bottom drawer, standard developer's house plans onto the site.

Although this obviously involves extra design, as well as survey, costs, the upside is that, quite often, the 'quality' of the planning permission can be improved, either with more marketable properties, larger floor areas, or even an increase in the number of units to be developed.

As you can see, we have an innate understanding of such things, borne out of long experience and professional capability. NHBC & Zurich
Of course, no building regulation, planning permission, or housing development scheme is of any value to you unless your end buyers can obtain mortgage finance for the property they want to buy.  And, nowadays, it is often very difficult to obtain this without a structural insurance guarantee, usually from one of the two big players in this market, NHBC and Zurich.

It will therefore come as no surprise to you that, for what seems time immemorial, we have worked closely with both of these inspection and insurance bodies.  All of our structural designs for houses come with appropriate engineering certificates to enable you to obtain these guarantees.  

For all commercial, industrial, leisure, health care and agricultural buildings where we are the structural designers, we are able to arrange equivalent cover, if required..
